An issue that is continuing to raise concern in my own personal arena is autism. I have a close friend with a brother who is autistic, and their passion for spreading awareness of this disability is becoming part of my own interests. Interesting fact:
Autism is suffered by 1 in 150 kids, making it more common than childhood cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined.

I saw her on Larry King and she was fierce in her fight for a cure and for the kids who suffer from this disease.
I have to plead ignorance and say that I did not know that autism was so common (1 in 150 is a lot!). I also didn't know that some think that too many childhood vaccines may be the problem.
This is something that I definitly want to learn more about.
